The conversation first really needs to happen between higher education and industry sectors, to identify industry recognized and valued competencies. Because it’s industry that’s going to be the employer for these students coming out of [competency-based programs]. Faculty, accreditors, and the Department of Education must be active participants in this conversation, to ensure that there’s broad buy in, a clear direction, and a connection to financial aid. ”
