It’s very important to engage your faculty staff, administrators, and students as much as possible when you’re looking to build the capacity for a prior learning assessment (PLA) policy. Everyone needs to be involved, have a stake in its development, and be a champion for your PLA policy. Get support from your higher education central office, from your campus leaders, from your governing board, from your governor and/or lawmakers. Engage your student advocates, and also make sure you engage your workforce.

State Policy Agenda

The State Policy Agenda is designed for state leaders as a guidepost to increase higher education attainment and reach Goal 2025 – to increase the proportion of Americans with high quality degrees, certificates, and other credentials to 60% by the year 2025.  It includes three core elements.  Under each are a set of specific evidence-based policy recommendations.
